Active in women's advocacy for over 20 years, Peggy Lorah served as Assistant Director with the Center for Women Students from May, 1999 to September, 2001. She was then appointed as Director in May of 2002. In that capacity, she provided educational programming and advocacy regarding sexual assault, relationship violence, sexual harassment, and chilly classroom climate for students, faculty, and staff. Lorah is a member of the Centre County Domestic and Sexual Violence Task Force, a member of the Coalition to Address Relationship and Sexual Violence, a member of the University Park Partnership.
Lorah has a BA from Elizabethtown College and an MS in Community Counseling from Shippensburg University, and completed a doctoral program in Counselor Education at Penn State in 2001. Prior to coming to Penn State, Lorah practiced as a feminist therapist specializing on trauma issues and addiction.
Peggy is Affiliate Assistant Professor of Counselor Education, College Student Affairs, and Women's Studies.
