SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS
If you have concerns about Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), UHS staff can help you
in a professional and non-judgmental manner.
If you are sexually active and are having unusual symptoms, call (814) 863-4463 and speak with a UHS nurse who can help you assess your risk for STIs.
Many students seek out routine STI screenings, even when they're not having symptoms, just to be sure they
don't have an STI. This is especially important, since many STIs do not cause symptoms, especially in women.
If you are not having any symptoms but would like to schedule an STI screening appointment, call UHS at (814) 863-0774 to make an appointment. Screening for certain STIs is routinely advised
at the time of a woman's annual exam, if she has been sexually active. For more information, see
Annual Preventive Health Exam.
If you would like to learn more about STIs such as Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis B, Herpes, HIV/AIDS, HPV,
or PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease), visit
