Drop-In Counseling is a brief consultation with a Career Services professional on any career-related concern such as:

  • major/career decisions
  • occupation information
  • salary statistics
  • networking
  • job shadowing
  • internship
  • summer job
  • full-time job
  • graduate school
  • resume
  • cover letters
  • interviewing
  • negotiating salaries/
    evaluating job offers

The counselor may be able to answer your question(s) in the 10-15 minute session and/or refer you to our other services to address your concern. 

Individual Career Counseling
One of the services you can be referred to from Drop-In is Individual Career Counseling.  Career planning is often a challenging process that can be complicated by many factors. Students in all phases of career development can benefit from career counseling.  Career Counselors can help you with three major tasks:

  • Clarifying career direction
  • Gaining experience
  • Searching for an internship/job or applying to graduate school

Meet with the Drop-In Counselor for help in setting up your first appointment. Career Counseling appointments are 50- minute sessions and are available for all Penn State students.
