Student Organizations

CERA provides office space to a variety of religious/spiritual student organizations. Out of approximately 60 religious/spiritual student organizations on campus, nearly 40 groups are affiliated with CERA. These affiliate groups uphold certain standards including a Code of Ethics and the Penn State Principles. They are able to worship, study, hold programs and events, and socialize in the facility.

Fellows Program

Thanks to the generosity of a private benefactor, the CERA Fellowship program was created in 2005 and identifies two Penn State undergraduate students who have a sincere concern for civic engagement and character development and also yearn to foster interfaith understanding as a vital component of a democratic society.

Students may apply to become Fellows and they are awarded a stipend for one academic year. The Fellows help plan and organize educational programs, serve as the CERA Student Advisory Board Coordinators, facilitate an active corps of students interested in interfaith activities and character development, conduct outreach and leadership to the University community in matters of ethics, character development, and serve on committees.

Memorial Services

Day of Remembrance: Each year in April, CERA hosts a “Day of Remembrance” to honor the lives of those students who have passed away during the academic year. On this day, the Worship Hall in the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center remains open for the Penn State and surrounding communities to pay tribute to these students by lighting a candle and reflecting on these students’ lives and the ones they so deeply touched. CERA invites the families of the deceased students to send pictures and other forms of memorabilia which are then displayed in the Worship Hall during the Day of Remembrance.

Individual Services: Memorial services can be scheduled for full-time students, alumni, Penn State employees/employee’s immediate family and members of the Penn State community. Printed programs, flowers, ushers, and so forth are provided by the sponsor.

For more information, please contact the CERA Scheduler via email or at 814-865-6548.

Baptisms

Private baptism services may be scheduled in the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center-Eisenhower Chapel. CERA can schedule the space and families must organize the officiates, musicians, florists, photographers, and so forth. Baptisms scheduled within regular worship service will not be charged a usage fee.

Recitals

The Pasquerilla Spiritual Center-Eisenhower Chapel is a popular venue for recitals. The State College Choral Society and the Penn State School of Music are two organizations in particular who use the Center for their performances.

Please contact CERA at 814-865-6548 for more information regarding fees and services.
