L.E.T. - Leaders Emerging Today

L.E.T. is an 8-week, peer-led, leadership program specifically designed for first-year students at University Park . In addition to learning how to improve their leadership potential, participants will also be introduced to a vast array of resources that will help them achieve personal and academic success during their transition to Penn State .

No prior leadership experience is required to participate; however, L.E.T is limited to 30 participants so a brief application is required. Participants who successfully complete the 8-week program will be awarded a "Certificate of Completion".

L.E.T. 2008 will be held on Wednesday nights from 7:00pm-9:00pm in 302 HUB beginning, Wednesday, September 17th and concluding on Wednesday, November 5th .

Desired Learning Outcomes of the L.E.T. Program

Upon successful completion of L.E.T. participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize effective leadership styles & skills and how they are important to the success of any group, organization, or team.
  2. Enhance their ability to develop their leadership potential as well as their proactive involvement in the University Park campus community.
  3. Develop presentation, leadership, and team-building skills.
  4. Demonstrate their knowledge of campus-wide resources and involvement opportunities.
