Who
We Are
Members
of our staff have expertise in a variety of areas focused on supporting
students at Penn State - counseling, clinical psychology, medicine,
pharmacology, student learning, student organizations and communities,
leadership, service learning, diversity, social justice and legal
issues in higher education.
We
believe there is a close connection between critical learning that
takes place in out-of-class settings and the more formal classroom
learning that students receive through Penn State's general education
curriculum. Problem solving, teamwork, leadership, interpersonal
skills, strong verbal and written communication and appreciation
for diversity are just a few of the important educational outcomes
that we strive to provide for students. We encourage students to
become fully engaged in educational opportunities - to participate
in academic clubs, volunteer for community service, and attend lectures,
music performances, theatre and museums.
Faculty
members are encouraged to serve as an advisor for one of the
more
than 600 registered student organizations, fraternities and sororities
at Penn State. See the index
of student organizations.
