Be
a leader
There
are thousands of leadership positions available to Penn State students
in clubs, organizations, honor societies, performance groups, intramural
teams, fraternities, sororities and in student government.
Student
Affairs offers annual student leader training sessions, educational
programs on leadership skills and credit courses on leadership through
our Center for Student Engagement.
Membership
in a social fraternity or sorority provides another excellent opportunity
to foster leadership skills and develop long-lasting friendships.
Social fraternity and sorority membership may not be for everyone,
but research has shown that social Greek-letter organization membership
has a positive effect on your persistence in college, your overall
satisfaction with your college experience, your level of satisfaction
with the instruction you receive on campus and your level of satisfaction
with the social life on campus. Check out Penn State's fraternities
and sororities - there are over 85 active chapters.
