Michele studied with artists Anita Wooten and Nancy Jay at Valencia Community College in Orlando. In 1999 she moved to Philadelphia to attend the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where she studied with Bruce Samuelson and Jan Baltzell developing her skills as a printmaker and draftsman.
In the fall of 2003, she went to northern Europe where she drew inspiration from the ruins of abbeys and castles informing her sensitivity to what remains.
Michele will receive her MFA degree in May from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where in the past two years her figurative works-on-paper have evolved into a concentration on making small intimate paintings.
These portraits that are on display have been a way to explore the complex and intense emotions she has experienced following the fatal heart attack of her father, Peter LeClaire in January 2004.
