Getting
the most out of your education
Since
its founding in 1855, Penn State has offered students an equally
outstanding co-curricular education. That tradition continues today
with enriching campus life opportunities at every Penn State location.
At
University Park, for example, students are continuously learning
valuable life skills through participation in over 600 student
organizations and countless volunteer and community service
programs. The Hetzel Union
Building at University Park is one of the most vibrant and busiest
student unions in the nation with over 35,000 visitors daily. The
annual dance marathon (THON) raises
over $3 million annually to benefit children with cancer making
it the largest student run philanthropy in the world. Penn State's
sorority and fraternity system
is among the largest in the country and every weekend night LateNight
PennState activities are attended by thousands of students.
Big
Ten athletics, intramural
and club
sports, Distinguished Speaker
Series lectures and an outstanding schedule of performing
arts events in music, theatre and dance will also add valuable
dimensions to your educational experience.
