Thank you for your interest in volunteering during the Fall 2012 Residence Hall Arrival! We’re thrilled that you want to be a part of our new students’ experience on their first few days of college life! Our new students are made up of not just first-years, but transfer, change of campus, and international students. All of these people will be able to benefit from your experience at Penn State – University Park.

Welcome Crew volunteers will be contacted in early August by a Welcome Week Coordinator from the Residence Hall area in which you have been assigned.

**IFC/PHC/NPHC/MGC Greek organizations should have members sign-up on the Welcome Crew Sign-Up page. There will not be a group sign-up this year, but you will be prompted to enter the name of your organization as part of the sign-up process so that your organization will get credit for your participation.
Important Dates (mark your calendars now!)
- August 22, 2012 – 8:00 am - Move-in for Welcome Crew Members who live on campus
**Welcome Crew living in Nittany Hall may not move in to their assigned room until Sunday, August 26, 2012
- August 23, 2012 – 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm (location TBA) – Meeting for ALL Welcome Crew Members
- August 23, 2012 – 8:30 pm (location - TBA) – Welcome Crew Members who are affiliated with an IFC/PHC/NPHC/MGC Greek organization stay for an additional meeting with Staff from the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
- August 24 & 25, 2012 - First year student arrival. You will sign up for shifts to help between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm each of these days.
Summer Session II
If you mark that you are in State College on June 24th, we will contact you at the end of the spring semester to see if you are interested in being a Welcome Crew volunteer for the summer session. You are not obligated to participate, but we can always use help assisting our 1,800 new students who begin in the summer as well!
Special Note About Housing:
- We will not be able to provide housing for Welcome Crew volunteers that are living off-campus.
- Volunteers who will be living in Nittany Hall (not apartments) for the Fall 2012 semester will not be able to move into their spaces until August 26th due to cleaning. Because of our full occupancy, we will not be able to provide temporary housing.
