On Campus Contracts and Leases Penn State offers housing in traditional residence halls, suites, and apartments. Housing is offered for undergraduate students, graduate students, and students with families. All first year students are required to live on campus unless a student is over the age of 21 at the time of initial enrollment, lives in the State College area, or is a veteran. On-campus housing is not guaranteed after the first year. If a student wishes to return to on-campus housing after his/her first year, s/he must participate in the Online Contract System. Graduate students and students with families who are interested in living on campus should visit the University Apartments and Suites web site for further information.
