Welcome Week at Penn State

Congratulations on your decision to attend Penn State University! We are anxiously awaiting your arrival to campus to introduce you and your family to Penn State through our Welcome Week program!

Our goal is to help you make a smooth transition to college and to give you the best opportunity to learn about the many resources and opportunities available to you on campus. Residence Life Welcome Week efforts are designed to help you get to know the people who are available to help you reach your goals, learn about being a member of the Penn State community, and of course: meet other students!

Each new first-year students will receive a copy of the Preface before they arrive to campus. The Preface will introduce you to Penn State and answer some of your questions before arrival day. Inside the Preface, you will find the Orientation Express to see what activities they want to be a part of and see what is available to them when they begin their career at Penn State.

Transfer and change of assignment students are encouraged to attend any of the programs offered as well. These programs will provide them with useful information about campus and the services offered. There are also programs designed specifically for our new, upper-class students such as a Transfer and Change of Assignment Social.

The Orientation Express is available on-line with more information.

For our returning students, Welcome Week and arrival are a chance for you to help our new students' transition to Penn State and ensure a successful first few days of college. The Welcome Week Leader/Hall Hauler position is a volunteer program where WWLs and Haulers assist with move-in and a variety of programs sponsored by different units within the University. For more information, please visit the Welcome Week Leader/Hall Hauler web page.
