Parents are welcome to join you for lunch in the dining hall. After that, we encourage all parents to
head home as you begin your experience at Penn State.

There are several events and meetings that are important for all
students to attend. On the first night, all students are required to attend their house meetings/dinner, the President's New Student Convocation, and Penn State LateNight. We strongly encourage students to attend as many Welcome Week programs as possible so that they can meet new people and become acclimated to the community.

A Welcome Week Leader, or WWL, is a student who has volunteered
to help answer your questions, assist you with moving, and be
a resource for you. WWL ’s are an invaluable resource to you
as you are beginning your Penn State experience.

Visit Orientation Express for a full list of programs. Each student will receive a copy
of the Preface during the summer, which contains the Orientation
Express. This booklet lists all the programs going on during Welcome Week.
There will also be fliers on your floor and your RA will have
a list of events.

The first night of Welcome Week is packed with tons of activities.
You will have a house meeting and go to dinner with your fellow
residents, then go to the New Student Convocation. Convocation
is a tradition for all new students. It is a chance for you to
meet the President of Penn State, Mayor of State College, and
the President of the Undergraduate Student Government. After Convocation,
all students are invited to LateNight in the HUB with games, food,
and movies until 2am!
