Opportunities for faculty and staff involvement in SLOs

Be a Faculty or Staff Associate
The Faculty or Staff Associate of a Special Living Option plays a continuing role over the course of the academic year. The Faculty Associate is responsible for providing academic and intellectual leadership through participation in programs and initiation of informal contacts with students in the SLO.

The SLO Associate’s life experience, including experience in university affairs, serves as a resource he or she may utilize when advising students, planning/implementing Special Living Option programs, and assisting with the formulation and achievement of SLO objectives.

If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact Mark Rameker, Associate Director of Residence Life, at (814) 863-1710 or via email at mjr22@sa.psu.edu

Volunteer your time and enthusiasm
There are countless opportunities to participate in SLOs that do not require a regular time commitment. Students in Special Living Options can benefit from your involvement in formal and informal SLO activities.

If you are interested in presenting a program, providing career advice, or attending a house dinner/social to get to know students in the residence halls, please contact Mark Rameker, Associate Director of Residence Life, at (814) 863-1710 or via email at mjr22@sa.psu.edu. You may also contact the Residence Life Coordinator or the SLO Associate working with a particular community for more information.
