Thank you for your interest in the Welcome Week Leader/Hall Hauler position for Fall 2008. We’re thrilled that you want to be a part of our new students’ experience on their first few days of college life! Our new students are made up of not just first-years, but transfer, change of assignment, and international students. All of these people will be able to benefit from your experience at Penn State – University Park.
Welcome Week Leaders
Please begin by reading the position description for an explanation of Welcome Week Leader (WWL) responsibilities. Participants must be aware of the expectations associated with the position, training, and dates of required availability. From there, you will be taken to the sign-up page.

Hall Haulers
Students interested in only helping students move their belongings from their car to their room can sign up on the Hall Hauler page.
If you represent a student organization interested in having members volunteer to assist with move-in duties on arrival days only, each individual person must enter the site and sign-up. There will not be a group sign-up this year.

**IFC/PHC/NPHC/MGC Greek organizations should have individual members sign-up on the Hall Hauler page. There will not be a group sign-up this year.
Important Dates (mark your calendars now!)
- August 20, 2008 - 12pm - Move-in for on-campus Welcome Week Leaders/Hall Haulers (this is the earliest WWLs/Haulers may arrive)
- August 21, 2008 - 1pm (location TBA) - Training meeting for WWLs and Residence Life Staff
- August 21, 2008 - 7pm (101 Thomas) - Meeting for Hall Haulers who are not IFC/PHC/NPHC/MGC Greek organization members
- August 21, 2008 - 7:30pm (101 Thomas) - Meeting for Hall Haulers who are IFC/PHC/NPHC/MGC Greek organization members
- August 22 & 23, 2008 - First year student arrival
Summer Session II
If you mark that you are in State College on June 29th, we will contact you at the end of the spring semester to see if you are interested in being a WWL for the summer session. You are not obligated to participate, but we can always use help assisting our 1300 new summer students as well!
Special Note About Housing:
- We will not be able to provide housing for Welcome Week Leaders/Hall Haulers that are living off-campus
- Students living in Nittany Hall (not apartments) will not be able to move into their spaces until August 24th due to cleaning. Because of our full occupancy, we will not be able to provide temporary housing.
