If you are unable to attend class because you are ill, consult the syllabus for each course, which will indicate how faculty wish to be informed of your absences.

If you do not have this information, send an e-mail to each of your instructors. In this e-mail you should inform your instructors that you are unable to attend class because of illness and indicate how much class time you expect to miss. Instructors' e-mail addresses are available through the Penn State Directory at http://www.psu.edu/ph/.

Giving your instructors advance notice of your absence is very important since University Health Services does not provide written excuses for your instructors.
