HEALTH PROBLEMS/ISSUES
Do you have questions about common health problems? Do you want to know the meaning of a medical term? Are you
curious about a personal health issue, but uncomfortable asking someone about it? Then this is the Web site
for you!
You can get helpful information about medical and preventive health issues either for you, for your friends
and family, or for class reports. However, please remember that the information on these pages is intended as
educational information only. You should not rely on this information to make any medical or other important
decisions about treatment. Those types of choices should be made in consultation with your health care
provider.
For Penn State students UHS Telephone Advice Nurses are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help
you decide if you need urgent care, a clinic appointment, or self-care. Experienced nurses will discuss you
health concerns, such as how to deal with an injured ankle, sore throat, medication problems, emergency
contraception, or gynecological needs. Call 863-4463.
Remember: the more you know about your own health, the better the choices you can make!
