- You
can logon to WebEvent at the Events homepage at http://www.events.psu.edu
-or- utilize the direct WebEvent logon URL of http://www.events.psu.edu/cgi-bin/cal/webevent.cgi?cmd=login&ncmd=startup.
- First,
you must logon to WebEvent. Once your are successful, you choose
your calendar from the list of 400 calendar names. The calendar
will have an "Add Event" button to begin the process
of adding events
.
- Your
'customers' can go directly to your calendar by utilizing
the following URL pattern where "nnn" is the number
of your calendar when created. http://www.events.psu.edu/cgi-bin/cal/webevent.cgi?cmd=opencal&cal=calnnn&
To apply this technique, place this link on your departmental

- A
meta-calendar is a merging of two or more calendar events on the
fly into one view. For example, the URL http://www.events.psu.edu/cgi-bin/cal/webevent.cgi?cmd=opencal&cal=cal13,cal9&
opens up two calendars in one view.
- An
embedded calendar is a calendar that is configured to contain
all the events in other calendars from which users can drill down
to a single calendar. The LateNight-PennState "all events"
calendar is actually a calendar embedded with eight individual
LateNight-PennState calendars.
- You
must be that calendar administrator to change the configuration.
Once you are successfully logged in to WebEvent, choose the calendar
you want to configure, then choose 'Options' from the icon bar
at the top of the calendar, then choose 'Calendar Configuration'.
- This
project is on-hold pending assignment.
- Currently,
every 1st of the month, a program is execute that copies the monthly
events into the portal for viewing by students. Students can subscribe
to the calendar category that your event is in. All events will
be in one or more of the fifteen categories.

event categories are the main breakdown of events on the events
homepage (http://www.events.psu.edu).
There are currently fourteen categories. If any of your events
rise to this level, you need to contact Ed McGowan at webevent@sa.psu.edu to request
access to these calendars individually.
